Our wide oak floorboards are cut from carefully chosen butts which have been selected for quality and to exhibit lots of character.
As well as flooring they are excellent for making doors, shelving, etc.
All our oak is Quercus Robur, the English or European oak. Unlike other, usually cheaper, straight grained, imported varieties, English oak has a much more attractive appearance.
Our floorboards come in 7”, 9” and 11” widths which look most pleasing when laid randomly mixed. They are 23mm thick, tongue and grooved, finely planed and kiln dried to typically 10 to 12 percent.
They may be laid over underfloor heating – we have them laid here at Dunsfold for our own use and will be pleased to show them to you. Seeing a whole floor is much better than seeing a sample board.
Whist these boards are new, we offer advice on the treatment which will make them look old and ‘right’ in an old traditional timber framed house.
We also usually have a good stock of reclaimed oak and pine floorboards.
